Post Modernism - She Hulk

Post Modernism is a rejection of modernism and Baudrillard opinion of post modernism is everything is a copy of a copy and he also believe that we also have reality and heightened reality, reality is when the media is actually real without any representation on the other hand heightened reality is adapted media products with are more intense but with clear links to reality and we are able to distinguish between what is real and what is not real. She Hulk is a series that is launched in Disney Hot star at August 18 2022. I believe this series contains lots of post modernism feature such as fragmented narrative, homage and self reflexivity. A fragmented narrative in postmodernism refers to a storytelling technique where the narrative structure is intentionally disjointed, nonlinear, or lacking a traditional, linear progression. An example of fragmented narrative that the series has is where the character keeps thinking back about before she turned into she hulk. Second feature that this series is homage a respectful tribute to a previous work or creator, often through imitation or reference. An example of this is in the whole series we are shown and the character is being represent in a good by meaning she is strong, massive and have the same superpower as the Hulk. Last but no least the final feature from post modernism that this series include is self reflexivity, it is a feature when the character has an awareness that they are just a character inside a movie or a series, example of this feature is when She Hulk pops from the Disney Hot star interface punching the screen and realise that she is in a series.

Jean Baudrillard is a French theorist that have the opinion and thoughts about the theory Post Modernism and according to him Post Modernism in general is everything is a copy of a copy and nothing is original as the media is too saturated and now we cannot differentiate which are real which are not. Hyperreality is the distinction between reality and simulation becomes blurred or even non-existent. In a hyperreal environment, simulations or representations of reality become more real or significant than the reality they are meant to represent and replacing reality by adding symbols or icon to replace it this can be defined as simulacra, and example of a simulacra is in a movie is when you shoot a person with a gun their blood does not splatter out instead the person will still bleed with a blood draining all over their body instead of bursting out. Reality can be defined as a real representation of view in the media which are shown to the audience. An example of reality in a movie could be when a person is throwing a grenade they pull the pin with their hand instead in hyperreality they pull the grenade pin with their teeth. In a hyperreality sometimes it is hard to determine which is real and which are not real, with the technology now days makes it more difficult for us to differentiate which are real which are simulated. An example of elements that could be hard to differentiate is in the movie John Wick there is a scene in his backyard where there are his dog and him, there is a dog poop in the background that is simulated. With this happening

-Explain the Heightened reality
-Effect on audience prefer
-Topic sentence does not connected to the main points
-Documentary example
-Critique on baudrillard
