What are the difficulties of regulating media in the digital age

The story of TikTok began in 2016, when Chinese company ByteDance launched an app called A.me that allowed users to create and share short videos. It was renamed Douyin (抖音) three months later. In 2017, ByteDance began expanding Douyin outside of China to the US, under the name TikTok.

Regulation
Nowdays media regulations are getting more difficult in the digital age there are lots of regulation that are applied to the application or social media one of the example is Douyin 2016, Douyin is an iOS and Android media app for creating and sharing short videos that is owned by Bytedance.
Douyin has a lot of regulations for users that are using their applications especially those who are below the age of 14 one of the regulation is the app is locked from 10pm to 6am beside that they can only use the app only for 40mins per day with these 2 regulations that are pointing to time limit Douyin can lower the screen time usage of children under the age of 14. Videos that are promoted are based on their algorithm for example if they like to watch science experiments the app will promote more of those type of videos. Two years later the app Douyin was rename into TikTok in 2018 to began the expansion outside China, in this new application they have the same logo but the company Bytedance rename their application into Tiktok without erasing the application Douyin so now the company Bytedance have 2 applications.
